ROYAL COMMISSION SITTING.

GOVERNMENT SALE JUSTIFIED

Proas Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, July 22. Before the Wheat Commissiin Mr Graham (Minister of Agriculture) gave evidence as to the quality of the 1916-17 wheat. He said that the business was a nightmare. At the end of two years there was roughly 160,000 tons of wheat under quality in iSew South Wales. The British Government had refused to take deliver}', arid the Federal Government was not allowed to send any more to America. There was then only the East left. Georgeson's contract covered 72,000 tons valued at between £500,000 and £700.000. He considered the sale an excellent bargain for the farmers.
