NEW ASSOCIATION.
(Pa* Unitkh PEEsa Associatioh.) qHRISTCHURCH, July 22. At a. meeting of the executive of the New Zealand Hockey .Association the Nelson Association forwarded a challenge for the shield, and applied for a date for a match against the holders (Wellington). It was decided to reply that a match would be arranged if possible for the Nelson team, But that there were already four challenges ahead of Nelson.
It was decided that the opinion of tfie various associations should be sought on the advisability of holding an inter-island match this season. . A challenge from the Feilding Association for the .Nordon Cup was received.
The following ladies' matches will be played on Saturday: — A Grade —St. Joseph's t. University I' Oval 2 ,referee Mr Searell); Momona v' Utago. Oval 1 (Mr Lomas); University 11, a bye. J '

A special meeting of the association was held to-night to consider an application for affiliation fiom the Feilding Association After considerable discussion the application was granted, the territory under the control of the new association to embrace. Kangihkei. Pohvngina, Kiwitea, and thai part of Oroua County north of the Oroua River. It was decided that the boundaries should bo reconsidered at the New Zealand Associate's annual meeting. The association has written to the English Hockey Association and to the NewSouth Wales Hooker Association asking if there was £.ny likel ; hood of English "and teams touring the dominion in 1920. So far no replies have been received to the invitation. "
