TO THE EDITOR. Sib,—ln re expenditure at Purakanui, the total amount spent for tho three years ending March 31, 1902, was £355 2s lid, and the rate-, per year are £118 15s Id. I hope this will be satisfactory to ratepayers; but I think that when your correspondent was making damaging insinuations he should have signed his name. It would have been more straightforward.—l am, etc., John Foote.
