The Bank of England returns show the stock of gold coin and bullion to be £32,475,000, and the reserve £23,030,000. The proportion of reserve to liabilities is 43.38. The notes in circulation total £29,863,000; public deposits, £75,000,000; other deposits £45,385,000; Government securities, £1S,823,000; and other securities, £28,940,000.
