LONDON WOOL REPORT.

October 25, 1862. (From the Home News.)Since our last report several hundred bales more have changed hands at the full advance then quoted, viz., l£d to 2d, but during the last few days there has been kss animation, although wool is fully as dear with little or no disposition to part with it by holders. It is worthy of note that the speculative feeling has not in any way affected manufacturers, who, with few exceptions, bought very freely at the August sale 3, and are well in stock till the November series, fixed to commence on the 13th, when fully 65,000 will, we expect, be catalouged. The arrivals to date are : - 7,477 bales Australian; 7,666 bales Port Phillip; 2,023 bales Van Diemen's Land ; 2,040 bales Adelaide; 8,662 bales New Zealand J79 bales Swan River; 21,095 bales Cape—total, 40> 048 bales, and about 16,000 bales held over and passed in May and August. Trade in the North continues brisk, and in some districts very heavy orders are still in hand. Nearly all are well employed, and from the high price of cotton .there must be an increased consumption of wool, and.it is generally expected that the attendance of ibuyers from all parts will be a very large one, and that prices will be fully maintained afc the advance of ld; to 3d. (Stapled and good bodied wools will we think bring more. The small stocks held of this description will scarcely suffice for requirements till the new clip is offered. _ ' ~.,.' The quotations of next sales will be regulated by ' the course adopted by speculators, who, judging from their present views, will not sell their purchases until after Christmas—their faith being still firm that the increased consumption of wool consequent on the -high range of cotton must react upon our market soon to a greater extent than ;it has yefc manifested; and that as manufacturers are cleared of stock with large orders on hand—some for months to come —they will be compelled to buy at the next sales. With these feelings speculators hold for an advance of fully l£d to 2.jd more. For ourselves we are not so sanguine, and we only look for the advance which has already been established being well maintained. The total operations of a speculative nature may be estimated afc 6,000 bales, ail ot which is still on the market for re-sale.
