Moorhouse, Esq., to offer for sale by public auction, AT MERIVALE, " ' ON MONDAY, 26th JANUARY, The whole of his valuable estate (freehold and leasehold), together with his well-known STUD OF HORSES And • MISCELLANEOUS EFFECTS, As follows : — THE MERIVALE EST .TE, Consisting of FIFTY ACRES OF FREEHOLD LAND, All laid down to grass and securely fenced ; together with the newly-erected dwelling-house thereon. The house contains twenty-one rooms, comprising large dining and drawing rooms, connected by capacious entrance hall, with large folding doors, so arranged as to form (when required) one large recaption room. Library, breakfast room, card rooms, bath rooms, large corridor, and other conveniences on the ground floor j together with several large_ and well arranged bed rooms and dressing rooms on the upper floor. The house is built of the best materials, is plastered throughout, and is in course of completion in the most perfect style. As a residence for a private family, MERIVALE Is, without exception, the most complete dwelling in the province. The grounds surrounding it have been laid out with great taste, and at considerable cost. The ornamental shrubberies and private gardens are filled with every variety of fruit and forest trees. The outbuildings comprise large and roomy stables, with coach house, horse boxes and shed, capable of accommodating several horses. There is a capital stream of pure water running through the property. . This property adjoins " Debonair,' 7 and is in the occupation of F. Stewart, Esq. It is securely fenced, and laid down to grass, and is one of the finest sites for a gentleman's residence in the vicinity of Christchurch, and accessible by the newly-made river road along the banks of the Avon. This property is likewise for sale by private treaty, upon liberal terms. One-half cash, the balance on mortgage for a term of years to suit purchasers. Also, 3 acres of unenclosed land, immediately adjoining the foregoing property. About 20 quarter-acre lots, part of that well-known section on the Town Belt south, in continuation of Colombo-street, and in the immediate vicinity of the Railway Terminus. Arrangements haye now been made for the continuation of this street in a direct line to the road running to the hills, as was originally contemplated. As an evidence of the increasing value of this property, it may be remarked that several lots have since the early sales changed hands at greatly increased J prices.
