The steamer Titania is now regularly placed on the JDnnedin and Invercargill passage. She made her first departure from the port to day, with a considerable quantity of cargo, and a number of pasBDngovs.

The Austral, according to her original consignment, takes to Lyttelton a number of the horses and other cargo which, she recently brought from Adelaide.

The description given of the Victory's position and condition is not all of a satisfactory character. She is now so much head to land again that the sea breaks through her .stern ports, and there is a suspicion that her bottom has been atFected. At any rale her mainmast is understood to have been so elevated as to carry away ?ome of the rigging. In the meantime negotiations are going on between Mr Scott, and the directors of the company, and it is possible that if another and a prompt effort is made the vessel may yet ba got off.

Tlw fourth ship chartered by the promoters of the Albeit Land (Now Zealand) Christian Colonization Movement is expected to leave the East India Decks on the 30Lh Octobpr with the first instalment of the second thousand emigrants. TheEchunga, Captain Cooper, belonging to Messrs Willis, Gann, and Co., for Timaru and Lyttelton, cleared at Gravesend on -Tuesday, the 2nd inst. The number who had assisted passages provided by the Provincial Government of Canterbury were—married 112 adults ; 104 children under twelve years of age, equal to 43 adults ; 42 single men and 53 single women—together, 250 adults. This is the sixth ship which has been despatched for Canterbury within the present year.— Australian and JS reio Zealand Gtviettc, September 6th.
