THE GOLD FIELDS.
The news from the diggings is of a most satisfactory charaetor. The diggers on the Dunstan are generally doing well, whilst many: are making " piles." The gullies towards the Nokomai, we are informed, are turning out well, and a large population is working in them. We also hear excellent accounts from the Beaumont. We understand that two men went to th 6 Treasury yesterday,-with, five hundred ounces, which they said they procured at the Beaumont, and offered to the Gold Beeeiver for sale. The increase from the older fields is also most satisfactory, and whether individual instances of good fortune be ? onsidered, or an account be taken of the aggregate quantity of gold obtained, and divided amongst those engaged in procuring it, the convection remains that the Otago gold-fields are turning out splendidly remunerative.
