Qua.rrei.some Women.—Mis. Catherine Corbet was accused of having called Mrs Catherine Davis anything but a lady, and with uttering1 sundry feroc ous threats against tiie said Mis. Davis. After evideuce had been heard, the magistrate required Mrs Corbet to find hail that she would kfep the peace foe one month, otherwise, herself to forfeifegL7 103., and two sureties L 5 each.
Thubateking to Kill—William Copland was charged with having threatened to lake ths life of Janet Copland, his wife. Complainant stated that he had on the 4th November seized and threatened to cut her throat. Deffndaut averred that # it was only a family quarrel and nothing serious was meant. After hearing bpth stories, the magistrate expressed his belief that' del endsnt had grossly illused the plaintiff, and it was high time his hands slionld be tied. Security that the peace should be kept was demanded aud giveu—Defendant in L2O, and two sureties in LI 0 each. •
Drunkenness.—John Thomson was fined in 10.3, for reeling about Princes-street, and using indecent language there.. Wra. Novtu, for being helplessly drunk, was fined in the sum of 20s. civil, cases.
