IjiKK^UENT instances having occurred of De 1 seition from Her Majesty's S<ia and Lan Korces in this Colony, Notice is hereby given, that the most rigorous procee<iiu<rs will be taken against any person enticina way, harboring, concealing, or employing Deserters. Ihe enactments relating to the above ofteno« are subjoined for information. FRANCIS D. FKNTON, Assistant Law Officer. OLAUSEB OF IMPERIAL ACTS RELATING TO DESERTERS. Naval Desertion. 10 and 11 Viet., chap. 62, sec. 11. And be it enacted, That every person who, b wor<is or any other means whatsoever, shall pereuad* my person in Her Majesty's Navy to desert, or improt»erly absent himself from his duty, shall forfeit and pay the sum of twenty pounds for every suck act; and every person who shall assist or procure any person in Her Majesty's Navy to desert, or improperly absent himself from his duty ; or shall conceal employ, or continue to employ any person belonging to Her Majesty c Navy, who shall be a deserter, or improperly absent from his duty, knowing him to b« such a desertor, or so improperly absent, shall forfeit and pay the sum of thirty pounds for every such assistance, procurement, concealment, employment or loutmuing of employment, as aforesaid."
