ORIGINAL CORRESPONDENCE.
(To the Editor of the Daily Times.) Sir, — We the undersigned passengers by the ship Southern Cross, from Melbourne to Otugo, before leaving the ship desire to recoid our protest ugainst the way that we have been treated ou board the abov<s ship, in regard to provisions b«ing improperly cooked, owing to the want of sufficient cooking apparatus;, and also an insufficient supply. We exonerate the crptain and officers from all blame in the matterj as we were treated by them with" kindness and respect. It is the emigration commissioner at Melbourne, Mr M-»cfarlano, ami 'he agents, Messrs Al'Cowen and Co and J. H. White and Co, who are to blame. We think it our duty to make this public, hoping that it m:iy put a stop to such underhand proceedings in future. We are, Sir, Your obedient servants, (Here follow 130 signatures.)
