The Melbourne Herald of September 25, has the following telegraphic intelligence from Sydney :— Business is quiet. At Cohen's sale of tobieco there were very few lots disposed of--the majority were bought in at former quotations. Deau sold inferior cavendish to-day at Is 9d. The market for flour is rather brisk, and there is a good inquiry at quotations. The following lots were offered for sale at auction to-day :—The balance of the cargo of teas ex Antagonist, some Mauritius sugar, 200 boxes of cavendish, and 60 boxea of half-pounds tobacco. About one hundred boxes of cavendish were sold at 2s Gd to 3s 7.1, and a few half-pound cases at 3s to 3s 7d. All that was sold was dark tobacco, no offer being made for aromatic, which was to be sold with all faults.
