The Customs Revenue collected at the port of Dunedin on Wednewiay, Sept. 24th, inst., was £614 9s. lid. The following were the principal items:— Brandy, 311 gals., £139 19s; whiskey, 350 gals,. £157 10a.; geneva, 41 gals., £18 14s. • rum, 35 gals., £15 15*.; wine, 110 eals.; £17 17s: tobacco, 484 lbs., £36 6s; cigats, 117 lbs., £17 lls.
Export os Bbbadbtuws.—The following returns, compiled from the Government Gazette, show the exports of breadstnns for the present year up to the 23nl Angust :— r .
The quantities here indicated are equivalent to 31,369 tons of flour. 'In a former article we estimated the quantity of wheat and flour available ior exportation this year, from" the proceeds of "the'T^Fßarvest'as equal to 38,749 tons of flour. Deducting, thp. quantity already.exported from the available surplus, it would seem that the balance yet awaiting shipment would be ,7376 tons. And supposing the stocks on hand nt \ the - commencement of the year, to have amounted to 5000 tons—a somewhat high estimate— the surplus available :for export at this time will not. exceed 12,376 tons.—£.
