Instructions have been received from the Admiralty that for the future the colonial allowances to war steamers are to be stopped. .The body of a seaman lias been found in the harbor, with five stab wounds in the body. There is every i eason to believe that he has been murdered, and the police are endeavoring to find out the guilty parties. Mr Buchanan's Inends are making great exertions to seenre his re-election. FJour is firmer; coffee, dgatv, and sugar are lower. Tobacco, 1,469,0341b in bond. There was heavy rain here last night, which was very acceptable. Mr Rae, late manager to the Northern Insurance Company, has been appointed manager of the United Insurance Company.
