ARRIVAL OF THE ESCORT.
The IJscort arrived in Duncdin yesterday after-? noon, bringing the following quantities o gold :— ozs. dvyts. Tuapska ..,.....,,,.... , 1903 15 VtTaitahuna ..,...., ~ 671 15 Woolshed. ~,. 161 5 ;2736 15 Mr. Davis, a wealthy Hebrew in Southnipptpn, has presented the Corporation and County Court in tlifit town e:xh with a. copy of the Hebrew Pentateuch, beautifully printed and bound, on which members of the Jewish persuasion can bo sworn, in consequence of their objection to be sworn on the Old find New Testament. In each copy the Hebrew decalogue is conspicuously printed.
