SEPARATION. WELCOME NEWS. All factious opposition being overcome, it is only fair to assume that only a Tery short time will elapse before SEPARATION from the NORTH ISLAND be accomplished. But few people, however, at this moment foresee what will be the consequence to TRADE lIS who deal in-articles subject to the present HIGH DUTIES. There can be no doubt that one of the first measures to be initiated will be the TOTAL ABOLITION of the present most obnoxious and iniquitous TARIFF. C. T.
