Grey crystals brought £40 12i (id; good counters, £38 i 10s; ration kind, £27 per ton. The Argus of May 7, says : — " The affairs -of the National Bank appear to be prosperous enough, if the balance sheet submitted to the general annual meeting held yesterday may be a criterion.. According to the report, the adoption of which was moved by the chairman of the meeting, the Hon. Cr. Kolfe, the net profits of the half-year amount to £20,995 Bs. 4d., £0,935 of which was devoted to the payment of a dividend at the rate of C per cent, per annum, while £12,000 was passed over to the reserve fund. The business transacted simply consisted of the confirmation of the report, and thereelection of the directors and auditors. The dividend will be payable this morningl at the bank offices."
