There has been a better feeling in the market today, -with more inquiry. Transactions in flour have continued light. Wheat has been more readily saleable.- Oats remain of ready sale, at firm prices. By auction Messrs. Greig and Murray disposed of of a parcel of Barclay and Co.'s bottled porter, on the Wharf, at 9s 3d per dozen, for net cash. Messrs. Frasor and Cohen offered a parcel of Mauritius sugars at their rooms, and placed about 1500 bags at the fol-. lowing rates:—Crystals, white, at L 45 10s; grey, L 43105; yellows," from L 42 to L 42105; fine counters, from 'L 39 to L 39 10s; good do, from L 37 10s to L3810s; good do, fine brown, L 34 12s 6d to L 35 15s per ton ; also a parcel of dates, newly landed, ex Wressell Castle, ai 3d per lb, duty paid; and on the Railway Platform, the damaged portion of the cargo of Mauritius sugar, ex Lady Agnes Duff:—White crystals at L 42 ss; yellow do, from L 39 10s toX4O 10s; middling to good counter sorts, from L35 to L3B 10a; and brown, from L27 10s to L3O 15s. Messrs. Goldsbroiigh and Co. held a wool sale at their warehouse this afternoon. The attendance was limited, but the competition was well sustained. Of 408 bales offered, about 340 were placed at. from Is 4d to 2s OJd per lb for scoured, Is 3d to Is 7£d for fleece, aud from 7id to 12|d for frrease. They also disposed of sheepskins at from 3Jd to Bgd per lb. Detailed particulars of tho sales arc given in our marketreport.
