ORIGINAL CORRESPONDENCE.

To the JS&tor of the Otago Daily Tihbs.

Sir—There seems-so little attention paid to necessary improvement in this city that I think it high time that a municipality should be at once formed. It is renlly a disgrace that lights are not placed'at each end of the'cutting, and also on the jetty in Jetty street. It is astonishing that lives have npt been lost in landing from the steamers and boats at night. I hope the Inhabitants will meet for the purpose of taking into consideration what steps shall be taken with regard to these and other matters. ■ •lam, Sir, Yours most respectfully,- . Edward De Carlb. ..Dunedin, 30th April, 1862. ... ;.
