The report of,the Aldinga's passage, and her list ofpassengers, appear in another column. - The Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation " Company's steamer r Pera, with the India, China, Australia, and New Zealand mails, left Southampton on : Thursday, the 20th February, 1862, at 2 p.m. She .. arrived at Gibraltar on Wednesday, the .26th Feb., and left atO a.m. nextmorning. Reached Malta on Sunday, the 2nd March, and left the same afternoon. Reached Alexandria at 8 a.m. on the 6th March. The Southampton and Marsailles mails together left Suez ' on Saturday, the Bth March, at 8 p.m., in, the P. & O. Co.'s s. s. Beneral. Arrived at Point do Galle in the 26th March, at daylight, and at 4 p.m. the Ausr. ' tralian and New Zealand mails left in the P. & O. ' Co.'s s. s Madras—the Bengal to go forward to Cal-cutta-with the India mail that night, and'tlie China roail also to leave that evening in the P. & O. Co.'s • s."b;: Qmeo. Reached King George's Sound : on the '; afternoon of the 10th April, and left at daylight next '■'■ morning.- Reached Melbourne at daylight on Thursday, 17th April. Had fair weather, but no favorable Hvinds'until within two days' sail of Melbourne*,'when she; experienced a heavy gale.' The Madras left the •same.-afternoon with the mails for Sydney, Queens- "■ land, and the Northern Provinces of New Zealand, but • had to put back to Port Phillip Heads on account of "stress of weather. She, however, left again on Friday morning. The Oiueo, with the mails for the Southern Provinces of New Zealand, left Melbourne on the 'afternoon of the 19th, but' went no further than the -^Heads; on account of the heavy' weatheiyand the ■Steamer Aldinga, which left Melbourne at p.m. on the afternoon of Satui'day, the 19th, passed the Omeo '6n the 21st, though she started thirteen hours after ' the Omeo finally-sailed.
