DISTILLATION IN VICTORIA,
The | following are the resolutions on rthe above subject, which the Government have obtained leave to propose in Victoria in the Assembly :— . ■ - -;;,
1. That it js expedient to consolidate and amend the laws affecting distillation and.brewing jn-Victoria,, aud the sale, of fermented and.spirituous liquors in certain cases'.' ' ' , ; * . : •,.:. ■
a. That licenses he granted for the following purposes, land, fees therefore be paid, according to the annexed scale:
" For every, license to keep and use still for, dis- ."■■"' filiation of spirits, £10. ..For every license to keep and use a still for ; • jnedical, chemical, assay, photographic, or \ i scientific purposes, or for distilling perfumes, " or for .the.manufacture of pyroligneous acid, jnaphtha or other manufacture where a still is 'necessary, and in which no spirits are made, £2. For everylicense to keep .and^ use. a still for the '.'distillation' of from grapes, for the pur,pose of fortifying wines, £6. - For every, license to keep and use a still for.the jdistillaiipn of brandy from grapes,-for sale or 'exportation, £10. ..-.'.■■'■'. ■ ''-■■■-.'.-■'■."' 3. That .the following rates of duty shall be paid, [levied, and collected pri'spirits hereafter disjtilled in Victoria, namely :— . ' , V / 'A. Upon, spirits distilled frdni malt; grain, foots, grape3,tor wine, six shillings per gallon. B.
