MINING BOARD ELECTION MEETING AT THE GOLDEN .AGE, WETHERSTONE'S.
On Monday last a meeting was held at tho above hotel, nearly all the candidates be_ing_pre^ r ___ sent The largo, concert room attached" to the hotel was crammed to the roof, and the greatest excitement prevailed. Most of tho candidates obtained a-fair hearing, except in one instance , when the meeting, by a show of hands, expressed itself averse to listening any longer to what it • appeared to think was irrelevant matter, and the candidate (Mr. Chappie) accordingly, sat -down. The meeting did not break up till a late,hour, and there was , the usnal amount of questioning and cross-firing. A show of hands was not called for. Mr. Goidon occupied the chair.
