AH the vessels of war on the Australian station are now, we understand, at Sydney. They were brought thither gradually, in order to be in readiness for any intelligence to be brought by the December- mail, aril it is not likely that they will now ho moved, until it is seen what news the January mail brings. On the 10th inst., that is, ten days from this date, the January mail will be due, and let us hope that we shall then be put out of all doubt. Meanwhile, the whole of these Governments are fully alive to the importance of keeping a good look out, and of taking all the means that may be necessary for defence.— Herald, March 7.
