The. export entries of gold at the Custom House on Saturday amounted to 105 ounces—duty 13/. 4s.

Jones, Bird & Co. report—An improvement _in amount of business ai> our sale yards this week, principally on account of the dullness of the carrying trade. The prices realised are far from satisfactory, and have a decidedly downward tendency. The market is, as usual, over-supplied with heavy draught stock, and they are only moved at reductions of from thirty to fifty per cent, of former market, rates, and very dull of sale. There is some enquiry for first class hacks and cobs, but none are offering. We quote first class heavy draught mares from £70 upwards. Horses, from £60 upwards. Second class mares and horses, from £40 to £50. Hacks, and light harness horses, from £25 to £35. ' Inferior, from £15 upwards. . The stock market is dull, and owing to the large supplies of sheep received last, week in this Province, prices must decline. We quote the sams rates as last week, but expect a considerable reduction in prices of sheep and fat cattle will shortly take place. First class bullocks, 20/. to 24/. Second class ditto, 16Z. to IS?. Heifers, 18/. to 20/., and 14/.. to 16/. Store sheep, 21s. to 235. Fat sheep, acclimatised, 30s. to 355.
