DESCRIPTION OF THE DISTEICTS OF DUNEDIN, BRUCE, AND HAMPDEN,1 WITHIN REFERRED TO. 1. City of Dunedin.—The Town of Dunedin as originally laid out by the New Zealand Company, including the Town Belt. 2. Bruce. —Is bounded on the north by the Hampden District, from the mouth of the Waikouaiti River to the confluence of the Minzionburn and Clutha River; thence by n line to the Summit of Mount Spylaw; thence down the Spylawburn to its confluence with the Pomohaka River; thence on the west by the Pomahaka Itiver to the confluence of the Waipahi Creek; thence by the Waipahi Creek to the confluence of the Kawera Creek; thence by a line to the Otaria Peak; thencfi on the south-west by a line to Cattlin's Cone; thence by Cattlin's River to the sea; and thence by the sea to Waikouaiti River —excepting the city bf Dunedin. 3. Hampden.—ls bounded on the north and northeast by the Heathcote and Timaru Districts; on the north-west by the sea; on the south-west and south by a line from the head of Milford Haven to the Waikatipu Lake; thence by that Lake to the Kawarau River; thence by that River to Clutha River; thence by the Clutha River to the confluence of the Minzionburn; thence by the Minzionburn to Lammerlaw Peak; thence by a line to the nearest source of the Deep Stream; thence down the Deep Stream to its confluence with the Taieri Hiver; thence by a Hue due east across the Silver Peak Hills to Cherry Farm Creek; thence down that Creek to its confluence with the Waikouaiti River, and down the "Waikouaiti River to the sea; and on the east by the sea. The land adjoins and lies East of Block V of the same District, being situate on the North bank of the Clutha, about two miles below the junction of that river with the Waitahuna. W. H. B—The claimant's sitrnaturemust be attested by a Freeholder or a Householder of the colony, who must sien his name after the words " attested by," adding to his signature the word freeholder" or " Householder." C—The words " Freehold," "Household," or " Leasehold," or " Holder of a Miner's Bight, dated 186 ," to he inserted here. D- -Describe the property distinctly, hut as shortly as possible: and particularly state the Provincial District in which it is situated, by inserting the words " City of Dunedin," Eastern, Western, Port Chambers, Central, Tokomairiro, Clutha, Northern, Maniototo, Oamaru, or Tuapeka "District."
