the Trades' Union have taken the .. idea of bringin" their organisation to bear m favor of refoim. a great outcry will be raised .in some quarters as to the danger arising from the.se organised bodies interfering with politics. Tothi. it may be answered that the Agncultuij.il Societies of tho farmer, and the landlord, and the Chambers of Commerce of the manufacture", bauker. jind commercial men never hesitate at interfering with politics when they feel their interests at stake, anil therefore the same latitude must he allowed to the Societies of the working wan. There is too ranch patriotism and love of order amongst the working classes composing the Trade Societies to occasion any alarm to the friends of order and liberty. These movements are signs pf the times, which our rulers will do well not to disregard. The working man is rapidly becoming aware of his importance in society, and his claims must sooner or later be fully and ungrudgingly recognised.
