The " Salcombo Castle," Capt;:in James, arrived yesterday morning. She sailed from Port Chalmers on the '28th ultT, and had favorable winds to'the East Cape; afterwards winds were light and baffling. Off the Mercury Islands, on Monday last, .sighted si fore-and-aft, schooner, suppose:! to be the " Victoria" Captain Kean; and, at the same time, a topsail schooner, both sailing same way at about equal speed. On Tuesday a brigantine, bound towards East Cape.— Southern Cross, Auckland, Jan. 10.
