THE GOLD FIELDS
Accounts from Wetherstone's represent that the population already numbers 5000, and is fast increasing. The Hills and Gullies in the neighbourhood are yielding astonishingly well. A report was in circulation that a large nugget was found, but the information is sot reliable. Much inconvenience is felt at Waitahuna owing to Captain Baldwin's not being gazetted to a commission of the peace.
