B. & Co.; 12 cases picks and handles, 6 casks tinware, 30 bdls. shovels, 50 bdls. buckets, Order ; 9 pkgs. biscuit, Webb, Pantlin & Co.; K» cases hams, 80 boxes soap, 25 boxes candles, 3G kegs nails, 7 pkgs. slops, 5 cases hardware, 73 cases furniture, 10 cases boots, 7 cases hardware, 5" cases fish, 10 oases vestas* S cases samples, 10 cases hams, 85 tons coals, 1 horse, 1 dray, 212 ba*js sugar, 9 qr.-easks whisky, 12 do. sherry, 50 cases old torn, 4 cases cigars, 10 do.. Order. 15 passengers. Mr. and Mrs. George, Mr. and Mrs. McDonald, Messrs. Kennedy, Young, Paul, Price, Patterson, Cotter, Callinar, Jackson, Williams, 6'Hara; and Osterland. Captain Maclean of the " Aldmga " informs us that after waiting two days in Melbourne in expectation of the arrival of the English mail, he received a letter from the Post-Master-General of Victoria, authorising him if he «met with the Mail Steamer to take the Otago mails out of her, and bring them on. Unfortunately he did not meet with her, and had consequently to come on without the mails. The White Star Liner, "Prince of the Seas" was totally destroyed by fire, alongside the Railway Pier, in Hdbson's Bay, on Friday night, the 15th instant. She had. fortunately discharged the whole or nearly the whole of her cargo. She was towed into the bay, and efforts made to scuttle her. The "Prince of the Seas" was 1316 tons register, and commanded by Captain H. A. Brown. ENGLISH SHIPPING. Arrivals from the Colonies. — Liberator Cashmere, Aurora, Australia, Donna Anita, Water Nymph, Jyhn Banks, Orwell, Swiftsure, Melbourne, and H.M.S. Niger. Departures.—For Melbourne ; British Trident. Prince of Wales, Ambrose Necker, Albion, Donald M'Kay, Summerlee, Western, Lord Raglan, True Briton, Commodore Perry, Alliance, Electric, and Queen of Clyde. For Sydney: Duncan Dunbar, Star of Peace, Mariana, Ganges, Planet, and Queensland. Casualities.—Therdhia (?) Elizabeth, Amsterdam to Melbourne, put into Cowes, 4th September, with loss of foreyard, rail, &c, having been in collision with a Swede off the Start the nighi previous. The Lion Beige, Trudden, from Leith to Sydney, with a general cargo, struck on the Lemon Sand on September 17th, and soon after parted amidships; crew saved. —Yarmouth, Suffolk, Sept. 19th.
