We understand that the agents of the " Salopcan " (Messrs. Fisher & Green) have received advices from Captain Beveridge, informing them that the ill-fated schooner had crossed the Taieri Bar in safety, with 6 feet of water, but that owing to the ignorance of the person who had undertaken to act as Pilot, she was run aground on a sandspit inside the bar, and a stiff breeze blowing at the time, she became a perfect wreck. The major portion of the cargo has been landed, but in a very damaged state. The barque Isabella came up to Dunedin, in tow, yesterday. The Golden Spring and Picard were towed to sea from Port Chalmers by the steam-tug Samson.
