The cricket match between Australia and the Rest of Australia, was advanced another stage to-day. The weather was fine and the wicket good. itli the exception of Hopkins, who played a fine, patient- innings, which was marred, however, by two chances, the Rest oi Australia made a poor stand in tho second innings, Armstrong's bowling proving very destructive. In their first innings the Reft of Australia made 311, Australia responding with 202. The Rest of Australia were disposed of 159 in their second innings, Australia thus requiring to make 269 to win.
