C.J.C. MEETIXG. (Per Press Association) Christchuxch, February 6. The- Canterbury Jockey Club's summer meeting concluded to-day in dull weather, with a fair attendance. The totalisator investments were £6059, making £11,140 for the meeting, as against £10,891 last year. The bookmakers' fees for the day amounted to £2lO 10s. Results : Middle Park Plate. —Sharpshooter 1, Broadsword 2, Sweet Angelus.-' 3. Also started: Caspian and Ormolu. Sharpshooter and Ormolu were quickest to move, and led into the straight. At the distance Ormolu was beaten, and Sharpshooter won b- a length from Broadsword who was a neck in front of Sweet Angelus. Time, lmin 4 4-sth sec.
St. Alban's Handicap.—All Guns 1, Glenculloeli 2, Rose Xoble 5. Also started : Prim, Petrovna, Probable, Field Gun, Tikitere, White Cockade. Xole. Contender, and Prism. All Guns practically led all the way and won easily by three lengths. Time, lmin 41 2-sth sec. Selling Race.—lvanoff 1, Sister Anne 2. Alexis 5. Also started : De Witte, Helianthes, Whirlwind, Lady Lochiel, Cavatina, The Libyan, Canton, Love Wisely. The Xorman, and Musterer. Won by half a length. Time, lmin 16 2-sth
Flying Handicap.—Serenade 1, Lady Orizom'2. Miss Mischief o. Also started : Chief Lochiel, Passion, Balaclava, Kilts, and Ennius. Won by a length. Time, lmin 1 o-sth sec.
Pest Handicap, of 100 soys ; 1 mile.— Field Gun 1. Valdimar 2, Hilarity. Also started: Los Angeles, Stronghold, Harvest. and Tremulous. Won by a bare head. Time, lmin 45 3-sth sec. The stewards of the Canterbury Jockey C'hib met this morning to decide the identity of Mr Duncan Rutherford's Insodn. which won the Lyttelton Plate on Thursday. After inquiry the following resolution was passed :—"That bv an unintentional error of identity Ingoda was entered for the Lyttelton Plate as by Stepniak—Armigeni, whereas it has been proved that she was by Stepniak from Miss Xionte. The stewards therefore decide- that the entry is invalid, and she is disqualified for the races." This means that Sir Geii'iie Cliffords Ploughshare, who ran second, will ir et the stake.
