GISBORXE RACES. (Per Press Association.) Gisborne, February 4. The summer meeting of the Gisborne Racing Club was commenced to-day in splendid weather. There was a large attendance, and the sum of £5546 was put through the tolalisator. Nineteen bookmakers were licensed. The Canterbury Jockey Club's summer meeting opened to-day in beautiful weather. The attendance, however, was not large, and the fields were not particularly .good. The totalisator investments amounted to £4781, in addition to which the bookmakers' fees amounted to £225. Additional results:— Fill}- Stakes, of 200 sovs; 6 furlongs.— Flitaway (9.3)_ 1, Miss Mischief (8.4) 2, Passion (8.5) 6. Also started: Dabchick 8.6, Ormolu 7.11, Lady Lochiel 7.11, Inchbonny 7.8, and Aetna 6.7. Won by threequarters of a length. Time, lmin 14 2-sth sec. Midsummer Handicap, of 250 sovs; mile.—Prim (8.8) 1, Tikatere (8.3) 2, G-len-culloch (8.13) o. Also started: Probable 9.0, Field Gun 8.13, Grand Slam 8.8, Ellerton 8.1, and Monkeys Puzzle 7.2.. Monkey Puzzle and Ellerton made the early running, but were beaten before the straight was reached. Glenculloch led at the top of the straight, but failed to stayout the distance, and Prim won by a length and a-half, Tikatere beating Glenculloch by half a head for second place. Time, 2min 39sec. Lyitelton Plate, of 100 sovs; for two-year-olds ; 6 furlongs.—lngoda- (7.7) 1, Ploughshare (7.7) 2, Boutade (8.8) 3. Also started : Cynibiform 8.13 and Zemba 7.7. I Won easily by a length and a-quarter. Time, lmin 16 2-sth sec.

Craven Plate, of 200 sovs; 7 furlongs.— Lady Disdain (8.6) 1, Czar Kolokol (7.9) 2, Rose Noble (8.2) 3. Also started:; Petrovna 9.1. Siinglow 7.13, De Witte 7.13, White Cockade 7.9, and Contender 7.5. Won by a long neck. Time, lmin 28 2-sth sec.

Halswell Welter Handicap, of 100 sovs; 1 mile.—Orsino (9.9) 1, Chiarinian (8.9) 2, E'nnius (7.7) 3. Also started 1 : Tremulous 9.2, Northern Star 9.0, Santita 8.13, and Bountiful 8.2. Won easily, by two lengths. Time, lmin 43 3-sth sec.
