At Sir Iveir Hardie's instance the Portsmouth Conference resolved that the executivo ask the Labor and Socialist organisations of the Empire whether they would favor an all-British Conference mi 1910 to consider matters of common interest to the working classes in all parts, and proceed to make arrangements ifreplies are in the affirmative. Sir Iveir Hardie dwelt upon the success of Labor politics in the Commonwealth, and added : "Now that Labor (has come into its own. it appears to us desirable to get into closer relationship with our comrades throughout the Empire in all matters appertaining to the welfare ol the. people."
