A meeting of the Oamaru Ladies' Swimming Club will be held in. Hurst's rooms at 7.30 this evening, when important matters will be brought up for discussion. Now that the harvest is at hand, and the consequent extra demand on farm stock, an opportunity of securing good horses. should be largely availed of. At any rate, a chance of securing really good working draughts is presented by the annual harvest sale at the Studholnie Yards to-morrow, when the Canterbury Farmers' Co-operative Association will offer some good sorts. A perusal of the advertisement in this issue should be made by farmers requiring such animals. Messrs J. H. Milligan and Co. announce special arrangements for fitting boys out with school suits, which will interest parents now that the holidays are drawing to a close. On Saturday, the 6th day of February nest-, closes one of the best sales we have ever had, and we have liad some good ones. We have a few plums left in dress goods and millinery and' sample hosiery.
