CHRISTCHURCH REGATTA.

(Per Press Association.) Christchurch, January 31.

The Christchurch regatta eventuated on Saturday oil Lake Forsyth, Little River, in splendid weather. The lake was somewhat rough in the centre, one of the Canterbury Club's boats in the Senior Pairs being 6wamped. Results:— Senior Fours, 2 miles. —Union 1, Canterbury 1, Star 3. The only starters. Canterbury led for the first- half-mile, but the Union established a lead at the mile, and won by two lengths. Youths' Double Sculls, 1 mile. —Akaroa 1, Union 2, Canterbury 3. Eight crews competed, but only five finished. Union led till about 100 yards from home, when Akaroa spurted, and won by a length. Maiden Fours, 1 mile.—Canterbury 1, Union 2, Star 3. Two other crews started. The race was a splendid struggle between the three placed crews, Canterbury just winning on the post. Junior Double Sculls, 1 mile. —Union 1, Lyttelton 2, Union 3. Won by fifteen lengths. _ Senior Pairs, mile.—Union 1, Canterbury 2, Star 3. Another Canteroury crew also competed. Union won easily by about four lengths, three lengths s« p?rating the second and third crews. Youths' Fours, 1 mile.—Canterbury 1, Union 2, Star 3. Three others competed. The raoe was hotly contested. Canterbury early established a slight lead, ond though closely pressed by the Union won by about a length. Maiden Double Sculls, 1 mile.--Christ-church Amateurs 1, Star 2, Lyttelton 3. Won by a length. Junior Fours.—Union 1, Star 2, Lyttelton 3.
