TARAPUNA RACES. (Per Press Association.) Auckland, January 29The weather was fine though overcast for the first- day's racing of the "Takapuiia Jockey Club's summer meeting. The course was in fair order, and the attendance was very good. The sum of {£10,471 went through, the totalisator. Following are the results : Takapuna Cup, of 400 sovs; one mile and three furlongs and a-half.—Bully, 6.10, 1; Xgapuka. 7.0, 2; Advocate, 7.6, 3. Also started: Leonator, Paritutu, Uranium, Uiilando, Inglis, First Gun, Maheno, and Kimlock. Won by two lengths. Time, 2min 30sec Ferry Handicap; five furlongs and a-half.—-Jeana, 8.0, 1; Explosive. 8.5, 2; Mentira, 8.3. 3. Also ran: Hardrock, Grizzle, Winhaston, Durability, Fuss, Aim Well, Goldwin, Master Paul, Flying Scout, Zinnis, MichaelofF, and Tattoo. Won by three and a-half lengths. Time, lmin 11 l-sth sec. First Pony Handicap; five furlongs and "a-half.—Glenora, 8.1, 1: Mistime, 8., 2; Glenore, 7.0, 3. Also ran: Mighty Atom, Pall Bearer, Cyrona, Marenga, Carmina, Etona, Lady Aroha, Laurel Wreath, Nora Soult, and Peggy Pryde. Won by a | j length. Time, lmin 11 l-stli sec. | Stewards' Handicap ; five and a-half tolongs.—Devonport, 1; Wauchope, 2; Miss Winnie, 3. Also started: Tarina, Wiaihuka, and Grizzelle. Won by a length.
