Mr. Donald Stronach (on behalf of the NewZealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited i reports as follows for the week ending 15th December : Fat Cattle were in large supply at .Bapaide to-day. 227 bead were yarded, which met with a fair demand at about last week s rates, bullocks fetching from L 7 3s to Ll_ 2# 6d, and cowa from L 5 10a to Lll. V\ e sold as follows On acconnt of Mr. J. C. Buckland, S bullocks at L 6 12a 6d to LS /s 6d, and 14 cows at L 5 to L 6 123 6d ; of Mr. George Thome, jnn., Maheno, 10 bullocks at L 5 17a 6<l to L 7 12s fid, and 2 cowa at L 5 10s; of Messrs. B. and J. Paton, Oamarn, 5 head of very superior bullocks, at LS l»s 6d to Lll ; of Messrs. Bright Bros., 26 bullocks at L 7 7s 6d, and 5 cows atL4 12s 6d; and on acconnt of Mr. David C'orsan, 6 bnllocka of very excellent quality, atLS 15s to Ll2 23 6d per head. We quote prime beef. 223 fid per 1001b; medium do, 20s. Fat Calves. —Fifteen were offered, and sold at from 14s to 32a per head. Fat Sheep.—227l were penned, which were fairly competed for at laat market rates, ranging from 7s 3d to 12a 6d. e aold drafts on acconnt of Messrs. J. anil b. Wilson, 126 at Ss Gd; J. C. Buckland, 55 at 9s 3d to 9s 6d ; John Duncan. 80 at Ss 3d ; and David Corsan, SO at 9s. Quotations as last week—ljd to 2d per lb. . Fat Lambs—7oo head were sold at from 6s to lis 3d. We sold as underOn account of Mr. J. C. Buckland, 66 at to 7a 9d ; of Messrs. J. and 8. Wilson, S7 at 7s to 7s 3d; of Mr. William Shand, 67 at 7a; and of Messrs. Fleming and Hedley, Seadown Estate, 44 at 1 Is. Fat Piga. 124 head were sold at from 13b to §3s per head. Store Sheep.—We could place a considerable number of good young crossbreds and merino ewes and wethere, but thus lar the supply offering is limited. Sheepskins.—We offered at our weekly auction on Monday a good catalogue, consisting principally of station skins, which brought fair prices, viz.: Cross-brcds, from 2s lOd to 03 7d ; merinos, 2s 6d to 5s Sd ; lambs', 13 7d to la 0d ; pelts, 6d to Is 2d ; skins in bales, per lb. Hides continue in strong demand at late prices, say, 3Jd per lb for wet-salted and 203 each for batchers' green hides. Tallow.—Market very quiet. There is no change in quotations to report, and transactions are on. a limited scule. Grain.—Wheat : There is nothing new to record, the demand, for prime quality continning very firm, but as there is scarcely any obtainable, business is necessarily ranch restricted. Inferior descriptions are difficult to quit. We quote prime milling. 4s 9d ; medium, 3a 6d to 4s 3d ; fowls' feed, 2s to 3a per bushel. Oats : No change to report." Barley: Without alteration.
