DUNEDIN MARKETS. " Mr. Donald Stronach (on behalf of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited) reports as follows for the ■week-ending Ist December : Pat Cattle.—The supply was a fall one at Buraaide Yards to-day, 206 head having been 'va ded. Prices consequently receded about 2r«d per lOOib. from those of last market. Ssllocks realised from.L6 10s to Ll3 2a 6d, and cows L6to LS 10a per head. We sold on aoArantof the New Zealand and Australian W Company (Limited), from their Clydevale Estate, 11 bollocks at L 9 2s 6d to LSI 123 6d, and 30 cows at L 6 15s to L 8 10s ; and on account of Messrs. Smith and Dornwell 37 head of bullocks from Seadown, at from L 8 17s 6d to 1.9 oa per head. We quote prime beef 22s 6d per 1001b. Fat Calves. —Ten were, yarded, and sold at from 1 la to 21a each. - Fat "Sheep —The supply of 1475 head.was readily'disposed of" at slightly better than lost' week's prices, the range being from 6s ;93 to lls 3d per head. We sold drafts on account"of Mr. .T. C. Bnckland at 9s, and Messrs. and S. Wilson 8s 3d. per head. "We quote prime mutton 2d pef^lb. Fat Lambs.—2s2 head were penned, which met with good competition, and were cleared at from 7s 3d to 10s 6d. We sold drafts on account of Messrs. Buckland at 8s 3d to 9s, and J. S. Wilson, at 10s 3d to 10s 6dFat Pigs.—46 were disposed of at 18s to ■47* each.'- . , •"'Store Cattle.—At Mosgjel Yards on the 25th instant, we disposed of 197 head of atore cattle on account of Mr. Miller, of Roxburgh Station, as follows:— Yearlings, • rtiers/atad bullocks up to three years old, from 26s to L 5 15s ; cows and heifers, from 12-lOs to L2 15s ; and cows with calves at 12 12a 6d per head. Store Sheep.—We have buyers for a considerable number of young cross-breds and merinos, and have several transactions pending. *" ■ ■ . 'i Sheepskins. —We offered- a' small catalogue on Monday, and cleared the various lots at satisfactory prices, ' say—Butchers' ■ and station cross-breds up to 5s lOd; merinos to 5s 9d; lambs' to Is lOd ; pelts to lid and skins at per lb, up to 6Jd. ' Hides.—The demand is fuily. equal to taking off all supplies coming to hand at late rates, say, 3|d per lb for wet-salted, And-203 each for butchers' green hides. Tallowv— We report sales at last week's •prices, at which the market is steady, say, 25a for well-rendered tallow, and 153 to 16s per cwt for rough fat. Grain.—Wheat: Transactions in really prime samples are very limited, and quotations unchanged. We disposed of several parcels by auction last week : milling, of medium quality, at 4s 3d to 4s 4d ; and fowls' feed at Is to 3s Id. Quotations for prime milling. 4s Sd ; medium, 3s 6d to 4s 3d ; fowls' feed, 2s to 3s per bushel. Oats : We sold at auction about 2100 bags feed at 'ls 4d to Is 6d, which we consider present market price. Inquiry for milling is very alack ; prime samples might fetch up to Is 7d per bushel. Barley : Demand is at present at a standstill, and quotations would be only nominal.
