SHIPPING.

ARRIVED. Novesibkk 27. Star of the Sooth, s.s., Bascand, from West port. G. Sumpter, agent. Beautiful far, 146 tons, Bernccb, from Dunedin. H. Aitken, agent. SAILED. November 27. Beautiful Star, s.a., 146 toas, Eernech, for Dnnedin. H. Aitken. agent. IN HARBOR. Steamer—Stir of the South. Barque—Bengal. Brigantines—Roderick Dim, Plorinda. Schooner —William and Jane. The s.s. Beautiful Star came in at her usual hour this morning from Dunedin, with cargo. The s.s. Star of the South arrived in port this morning from Lvttelton. For the following report of her passage we are indebted to the purser : —Left Dnnedin on the 3rd November for Oamaru, and arrived on the 4th ; sailed again same day for Lj ttelton, and arrived on the 6th ; left for Wellington and arrived on the 7th; sailed for Wanganui on the Sth and arrived on the Qth, but did not leave until the 13th, having lost two blades of her propeller against a snag going np the river. Went up the river; went on the beach on the 10th to ship new propeller, wliich delayed her till the 13th, the work having been done in about six working hours ; did not reach the next port (Westport) until the 15th, having had to run for Blind Bay, and, again, having to drop anchor off Spit Light, the weather being bad ; left Westport on the 15th for Hokitika, and arrived on the 17th, but could not teave again nntil the 20th, having been detained for want of water on the bar ; left on the 20th for Westport, and arrived on the 21st; left for Lyttelton on the 22nd, and arrived on the 25th; left again same evening for Oamaru, and arrived as above.
