He is perfectly quiet, docile, and tractable. flj a dam is by Lord Clyde, imported from Scot, land, and a. glance at his career will be conclusive proof that no better was bred in Scotland. LORD CLYDE was bred by D. M'Far. lane, Esq., Torr, Helensburgh, by Emperor" out of Jess, by Clydesdalo Tam, out of Tibbie; Emperor by Sir Walter Scott. Lord Clyde took the following prizes as a yearling:—First at Bishopriggs, Kirkin. tullock, East Kilbride, and Johnston* (1866) ; as a 2-ye:ir-old—First at Barhcad Johnstone, Renfrew, and second at Glasgow Highland Society (1867); as a S-year-old First at the Highland Society Show, hold its Aberdeen, 186 S. Dainty Davie's sire—Moffat's Conqueror (imported from Scotland) —had also a, distiuguished career, both at Home and in tho Colonies. When two years old he gained, prizes at Glasgow, Stirling, Kirkmtulloch ;i.ud Dumbarton; when three years old frotnl among 60 horses he was selected for a £4O, premium. The following year ho was purchased by Mr. Moffat, Victoria, and res tained at his stud till purchased by ivlv. Turner, of Bacchus Marsh—the most noted breeder in Victoria. Conqueror's sire was Lochfergus Champion. It oan bo safely asserted that Lochfergus Champion left more prize stallions and mares than anyother Clydesdale horse in Scotland.
