THE ENGLISH CORN MARKET. We clip the following f- i the of the New Zsa'-tnd Loan /ui Mercantile Agency Company, reccivo:. by the last pi»n ; Since date of our last issue by this route the value of wheat has sensibly declined, prices receding fully -■? to 3s per f|narter. After an interval of depression, during which operations were on a limited scale, a revival lias taken place, and a fair business is now passing at nearly previous rates. The wet and cold weather of the past fortnight, which to a considerable extent impeded the harvesting in Yorkshire and adjacent counties, has probably been the main cause of this renewed activity, so far as wheats on the spot are concerned ; while the resumption of Continental demand for cargoes arrived ofFcaast has stimulated competition on the part of Home buyers who had held aloof when valnes 'were at their lowest. Shipments afloat, though not quite so hcavy aa at this time last year, are s-ill large, standing at 1,C20,542 quarters. The trade in America is steady, the "visible supply' showing no tendency to increase. It is somewhat early in the season, however, and stocks from the interior have scarcely yet begun to move towards the shipping centres. Australian wheat has touched a low range of valnes in sympathy with other descriptions, but has also shared in the recovery. The arrivals off coast have beeu numerous, Snd many of them have been sold for Hull and Dublin. The supply in granary is smal I, and after being almost unsaleable at 44s 6d per 496Ibs r these wheats meet with steady mquiry at from 46s 6d to 4*s. Of New Zealand wheat, five cargoes have arrived off coast during the month, of which the Marie and Altair have- been taken at 41s 9d and 42s 6d respectively for Antwerp, the remainder being withdrawn. Stocks in Igganary are large, but fair purchases continue 'to be made at quotations. A small cargo ot Tasmanian wheat, ex Salado, was sold on the 15th instant at 44s 6d c i f. and was ordered from Falmouth to Hull. New Zealand oats are at present slow ot sale, the supply being in excess of the demand. It will probably take some time to bring them into general consumption, as their quality is superior to that of the oats used for ordinary pnrposea, and the cost is more than owners of common stock are in the habit of paying for feed.
