DUNEDIN MARKETS. Mr. Donald Stronach (on behalf of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited) reports as follows for the week ending 3rd November : Grain.—Wheat: The tone of the market is somewhat better, but not sufficiently so to warrant any improvement in quotations. Supplies of really prime, which is the quality chiefly in demand, are still small and holders are expecting to realise higher prices. On the basis of actual bnsinous -we cannot give higher quotations than those of last week's report- namely 4a 6d to 43 7d for prime milling, 3a 6d to 4s 3d for inferior to medium. Oats : have no transactions to report, but hear of sides of feed oats at 1» 4d. We quote prime milling, nominal, Js Gd to Is Sd ; good feed. Is 4d to Is 6d per bn3hel. Barley : Prime samples for malting purposes are scarce, and would still command 3s Gd per bushel. No inquiry for inferior descriptions.
