AUCKLAND. (by telegraph.) October 29. There is little alteration in prices. In the last few days there have been symptoms of an improvement in the money market. Bank anil insurance shares and stocks are firm, bat transactions in grain and flour are ■lack. Millers are well stocked. Arrivals of maize from the coast have fallen off, no doubt because holders decline to sell at piling prices. The last cargo of Fijian sold at very low rates, viz., 2s 3d to 2s Gd, having affected markets. 200 bags of coast maize changed hands at 2s lOd net cash : local maize is quoted at 2s £M to 3s. Oats continue to range from Is lOd to 23 3d, according to quality. As for potatoes, they are fln y price, having been scld as low as 9s fer ton. Really well picked lots of Canternry might be worth L2 10s or L 3. Oamaru lota find ready sale at L 3 10s to L 4. CHRISTCHURCH GRAIN AND PRODUCE REPORT. (Prom the Canterbury Times.) The week has been very bare of any special character. Business continues quiet, and has been confined chiefly to the filling of orders. The weather has been very favorable for the growing crops, and the reports from the varions districts are all confirmatory on this point. Wheat.—A few sales have been made at current rates, which have in no way altered from the values of last week. Best milling, 4b to 4s 3d, and for choice lots a shade more is obtainable. Second-class samples are quoted at 3s 6d to 3s lOd. Oats.—The market i 3 quiet at Is 6d to Is 8d for milling. Several parcelshave been sold, but buyere are not over eager. Good feed l?nga command Is 4d to Is sd, and inferior grades Is Id to Is 3d. Barley.—Nothing of interest has transpired in this grain. Quotations remain unaltered and comparatively little has been done even in the lines most abundant. Potatoes have in no way changed, and the mcan3 of outlet are as unsatisfactory as before.

Tlour is quiet at LlO to LlO 103. Grass Seed. —Very little has been done in iye-gras3, only a few odd lots having been taken up at 2s Gd to 23 7d for well-dressed farmers' pareels. Dairy Produce.—Butter, 5Sd to 6d; cheese, 4d to 4Jd; ham and bacon unaltered.
