Forbes joined Holmi and at once took a liking to the bowlin his first two hits being for three each Th' partnership, however, did not laat W Holmes being bowled by De Lautour who had been put on at the north end' Creagh was next, but the first ball from De Lautour crept into his wicket* Marshall then became Forbes' partner W he was immediately caught and bowled, bv the Doctor, for nil, and his auocoss™ (M'Donald) also failed to score. Cooko now joined Forbes (who had been scorintrfreely off both bowlers) and a long standi ensued, both batsmen exhibiting g cricket. The score mounted up rapidly causing several changes in the bowlin/ At length Forbes, was bowled off his legs by Will, having made the fine score of 41 for which he was loudly applauded. Finch and Hartley were soon disposed of, and when time was called, Fen wick and Cooke had possession of the wickets. Thehttor had put together 27 in his usual ji ea t style.
