CHRISTCHURCH. (by telegraph.) October 14. While a fair amount of business can be reported as having been transacted during the week jnst closed, nothing of a special feature has cropped ud. Roports by the English mail are more favorable than was anticipated. Wheat—Good milling qua'ity is saleable at 4s to 4s 2d, and extra lots at a shade over these rates ; second-class realises 3s 6d to 3s Itid ; a few sales of chick have been made at 2s to 2s 9d according to quality. Oats—The market presents much the same aspect, and prices remain about the same. Barley Quotations are without alteration ; good malting, 2s 6d to 2s lOd, and anything approaching first-class is saleable np to 3s 6d. Fair sale 3of seed lots have transpired at Is lid to Is Od. Flour lias had fair attention at I*lo 10s to Xjl1 9 according to brand. Grass seed—The inquiry has slacked off, and comparatively few sales have taken place. Good seed has been placed at 2s (>d, while some dirty lots have changed hands si.3 low as Is Od to Is lOd. " The stock market wa3 well attended, and biddings were brisker than usual. Mutton, 23d in the wool, lid shorn; beef, 22s Cd per lOOlbs. "
