PRINCE ROYAL, as a yearling, took second prize at Timai'u, firstat Chriatahurch, and first at Oamaru. Whea 2 years, was second at Timaru, a,nd first at Oamaru; when 3 years was second at Oamaru. THE PURE-BRED CLYDESDALE STALLION QCOTLAND Y S T Will travel this season through Maerewhenua, Ngapara, Duntraon, Ka&anui, and the Waitaki Districts. PEDIGREE. Scotland Yet is rising four years old, and stands hands high. He is a rich dark bay, with capital short hairy legs, and four black points. He possesses good sound feet—a very important requisite in a site for producing draught stock. He is short in the back, well ribbediup, with good quarters and splendid aption. He has proved a sure foal-_getter, and is a splendid Southland, Young Ipriuee of Wales, by Drew's Prince of Wales, by General, by iSir Walter Scott, by Old Cly c\e, by Scotland, by Champion, which takes us fully fifty years back amongst the grand old sires of Clydesdale blood in Scotland. Scotland Yet's dam was bred by -Mr. A. Steele, which was got by the well-known Thane of Clyde, imported by Hugh M 'Lean, Esq., of Benmore,. Thane of Clyde, bred by Thomas Young, Esq., Renfrewshire, Scotland. He took several first prizes in Scotland when two and three years old. His dam was the celebrated mare Matchless, never beaten in hor day. He also gained the first prize, against all comers, at the Southland Agricultural and Pastoral Society's Show in 1867, being there for the first time shown in New Zealand. • The- following year he gained the Gold at the Tokomairiro Agricultural snd Pastoral Sooicty'a Grand Show, and was reckoned by competent judges to be the best bred horse in Otago; also, the Gold Medal at the Clutha, Sootland Yet gained second prize at the Southland Agricultural and Pastoral Society's Show in 1877 ; and in 1878 he gained the same Society's first prize, beating a field of seven, and he was admitted by the judges on that occasion to be the best colt bred from the Prince of Wales.
