(FKOM OUR OWK CORRESPONDENT.) PALMERSTON.' October 8. . At the Resident > Magistrate's Court to-day, before I. N. Watt, 11. M., Martin Power was' charged with having an illicit still in his poss- ssion. , Alex. Annan, Phillip McCarthy, and Daniel M'Carthy were charged with aiding and assisting Power. Mr. Hackworth, Customs Collector, prosecuted, Inspector Thompson - watchr ing on. behalf of the police, Mr. Catomore defending Annan.' The-case was remanded until Tuesday. Bail having been appliedfor, the application is deferred until 5 o'clock. The case is not likely to come on before Tuesday week. After the adjournment of the Court, Inspector Thompson proceeded to Flag Swamp and arrested Mary Hood for aiding and assisting in the illicit still business. She will appear before the Court at 5 p.m.
