Mr. Donald Stronnch (on I-chalf of the New Zealand Loan and Mercanti'e Agency Company, Limited, reports a* follows for the week ending 6th October : Fat Cattle were in full supply at Burnside this day, 251 head having been yarded, and last week's quotations were not supported. Store Sheep—The supply was again very large, and the trade being already fair y supplied, a farther reduction had to be submitted to to effect sales. 339S were penned, co sisting of 2&12 cross-breds and ..>o merinos. For the former 12s to 14s M .«as realised in the wool, and S- 9d to Ss shorn ; and the merinos sold at from Gs »>d to IDs 6d. We disposed of drafts a3 follow: Cross-bre&a: On account of Mr. 1 Ilia in Donn, 202, at 12a ; Messrs. J. and J. butherland, IS2, at 12s and 13s ; J. G. Grey at 13s to 13s Gd; Little Brothers, 120, at 12s 6d to 12s Gd ; and on account ot -Mr. David Corsan, 154 shorn cro-s-breds, at Ss to 8s 3d; also a draft of merinos, on Recount of Mr. J. C. Btickland, at 10s. W c quote prime cross-bred mutton barely -ijd per lb in the wool, and l: £ 'd shorn. Fat Lambs." 33S were penned, which sold at from 43 to 11 s9d per head. We disposed of drafts on account of Messrs. Robson, J. C. Back land, and J. G. Grey, at from 4s to 8s 6d. . . Fat Pigs-—Ninety-seven were offered, and disposed of at from lGs to 55s per head. Wool.—We disposed of a few bales of aeoared wool, marked S and M, at our public sale on Monday last, at Is 4d and Is 5Jd per lb. Sheerokins. —At our weekly auction on Monday we offered a full catalogue, which ■was well competed for, at prices about same as last week. Bntchers' cros3-bred skins realised from 3s 3d to 53 7d. and merinos 2s lid to 5s Id; and station skins at same « rates. Hides. —We have no change to report; all consignments coming to hand are readily quitted *t late prices. Tallow. —Afi intimated in our report last week, recent prices are not sustained, the demand being scarcely equal to taking off the supplies, which are coming forward freely. . Grain. —Wheat: Market continues firm at late values for good to prime milling, but for inferior descriptions there i 3 no improvement in the demand. We quote 43 Gd for prime milling, 4s to 4s 4d for fair to good; 3s 6d to 4s for inferior to medium. Oats : We have had inquiries for milling for shipment, but cannot as yet report transactions. liqwi) demand continues very slack, and our hrt quotation of Is Sd could scarcely be obtained. Good feed can be disposed of at Is 6d, at which sales have transpired. Barley : No change in the market, and any quotations would be only nominal.
