WATER FOR MOTIVE POWER.
A special meeting of the Borongfi Council was held last evening for the purpose of considering the charge for water for motive power. There were present—His Worship the Mayor, Councillors Blair, de Lautour, Hassell, jun. M'Combe, Otteirson, Smith, Spence, and Townsend. After some discussion, it was resolved that the following sections be adopted in substitution of sections 14 and 19 of, bylaw No. 23, as already published : Motive, power will be supplied at tho following charges : . v n n t Price perH.p (effective). Hourfl h. p. 1 per annum. 10 and under ... | lj[ f Over 10 I ® war m ... ... | 12 ] 0 o. All motive power, under four h. pw wiU be arranged for •by special agreement. Where water is supplied by meter, tho charge in all cases will be Is 3d per IOOOi gallons. No water-closet shall in any way bo connected with or supplied from *ny waterworks pipe. ■ It was resolved that tho proposed bylaw No. 23, relating to water as revised be . adopted, and that a spebial meeting of the Council be held on the 28fch inst. , at 7.15 p. ni., for tho purpose. of : confirming the same.
